People Business Partner – APAC

We’re now looking for a People Business Partner – APAC to partner closely with the Model Shop in Malaysia, managing the full employment lifecycle. You will join Merlin Magic Making and support our Corporate functions across the region.
About the Role
As a trusted People Partner, you’ll play a key role in driving our people agenda across APAC. From partnering with leaders on workforce planning and organisational design, to ensuring a smooth employee experience throughout the lifecycle, you’ll be at the heart of shaping how we support and develop our teams.
You’ll also:
• Partner closely with the Model Shop in Malaysia, managing the full employment lifecycle
• Partner with APAC business leaders to deliver a people roadmap aligned to Merlin’s global strategy
• Manage the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding
• Provide advice on employee relations, recruitment, performance management and talent development
• Ensure compliance with local labour laws and regulations
• Lead payroll processes locally and ensure accurate employee records
• Produce monthly people metrics (turnover, absence, engagement) and drive action where needed
• Support employee engagement initiatives – from recognition programmes to our annual Culture Survey
• Collaborate with global People teams to localise and implement people initiatives that work for APAC
• A degree in HR, Business or related field – or equivalent experience
• Proven HR generalist experience in a fast-paced, commercial environment
• Knowledge of HR best practice, employment law, benefits and employee relations
• Experience supporting leaders across multiple functions and/or regions
• Strong organisation, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
• High levels of discretion, professionalism and confidentiality
• Confidence with HRIS, applicant tracking systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Flexibility to work across time zones when needed
